We're officially embracing the shorter days and wrap-up-warm weather as we look forward to winter here in the Southern Hemisphere, while our friends on the other side of the world toss off layers and start enjoying tan-lines and long balmy days! A change of seasons is the perfect time to do a little interior re-decorating, readying your home for more cosy time spent indoors, or getting those outdoor rooms relax-ready for summer. Here's a little interior inspo for you...
If you're looking for a palette or theme that's both contemporary and classic, the never-goes-out-of-style Scandi look is a stylish option - think plenty of white and clean lines, paired with greys and neutrals. We're in love with this living room above, especially that famous Eames designer chair and the modern grey lamp. A nice alternative to a coffee table here would be one of our low beanbag ottomans in light taupe.
Bedroom Envy! From the rustic ladder used as a magazine rack, to the oversized woven lamp, to the statement windows... we want it all! Those painted wooden floors are such a unique touch - we think one of our giant floor cushions in on-trend soft grey would be the perfect addition here (to replace some of the many smaller cushions!)
Any little girl would be delighted to have a creative space like this one. The house frame bed has made an appearance on our blog a few times now - such an affordable and fun concept for a kid's bed. Giant floor cushions are an awesome option for children's bedrooms because they make great comfy 'clouds' to read, nap or play on. And they can be easily moved into the lounge room when it's movie time, too! We'd go for one of our giant floor cushions in either parma pink or purple in this space.
This light-soaked little reading corner needs a nice designer seat - something you can really sink back into, that's oh-so-comfy yet sturdy and supporting. Our light taupe bean bag chair (with modern black trim) would be both stylish and functional in this spot.
One of the best things about winter is a roaring open fire. We love the soft masculinity of this space - the calming colours and use of textures makes the space instantly relaxing and atmospheric. You know what would look gorgeous right here? One of our giant floor cushions, in dark taupe.
We're fans of minimalism and a monochrome palette - it never dates, and if you fancy a chance, you can easily update the look with pops of colour from art, homeware objects and cushions. This designer coffee table looks great, but another option would be a large, low ottoman - the texture and shape actually softens and warms the slightly-cold look a little. We'd choose grey for this space.
